From July 13 to August 12 this year, the renowned International Chamber Ensemble will present Rome audiences with a popular series of concerts and fully-staged and costumed operas, recognized and appreciated in particular for their artistic excellence.
During these 18 ‘Evenings of Great Music at the Courtyard of S. Ivo’, just as it has for the past 21 consecutive summers, the International Chamber Ensemble presents musical evenings in the courtyard of Saint Ivo alla Sapienza, one of the city’s most splendid examples of Renaissance architecture.
Located just a short walk from Piazza Navona, the architectural and acoustical excellence of the Courtyard creates the perfect setting for a marvelous musical evening under the summer stars of Rome.
The repertory chosen for this year’s series of concerts offers a stimulating and uniquely varied array of immortal music; from Johann Strauss to George Gershwin, from Astor Piazzolla to Glen Miller and Cole Porter, from the fabulous melodies of the Beatles to the best known cinema soundtracks of the past 50 years, all performed by the orchestra of the International Chamber Ensemble under the direction of Francesco Carotenuto and with several special guest artists.
